Since its founding in 2011, Swatch Nines MTB has served as a friendly antagonist to the world of competitive mountain biking by creating eye-catching experimental playgrounds for athletes to express themselves and push their limits in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere.
For the first time this fall, the Swatch Nines MTB will be hosted jointly by two different locations. After a progression-focused Big Air Session from September 4–6 at Germany’s Green Hill Bikepark, the action will move to Bike Republic Sölden in the Austrian Alps from 9–13 September, where flowy freeride and slopestyle lines await.
This year, the three-day bike festival BYND The Hill will overlap with Swatch Nines, offering participants a front-row seat to world-class MTB action as well as a full program of musical acts, parties, gear tests, side events and more.
BRS Festival returns for its second edition with a vibrant mix of biking action, public sessions with Swatch Nines, ride-outs, parties, technique courses, and playful contests—all set against a backdrop of beats, beers, and good vibes.
The lineup features top international talent from across the mountain bike spectrum, including a strong female presence. The categories of freeride and slopestyle are well-represented, with freeriders such as Veronique Sandler (GBR/NZL), Casey Brown (NZL) and Sam Reynolds (GBR), and slopestyle riders like Nicholi Rogatkin (USA) and Patricia Druwen (GER). Stay tuned for the full riders list.
Faced with rain, mud, sun and snow, the riders of Swatch Nines rose to the challenge of an early outbreak of winter in the Alps. This 26-minute documentary offers an unfiltered deep dive into the reality of Swatch Nines MTB 2024 at Bike Republic Sölden.
The Swatch Nines Bike set-up is a product of months of intensive collaboration between athletes, designers and park builders. The process of designing the setup begins at a creative workshop, where the first sketches are made. Afterwards the features evolve into their final form, steered by input from riders like Sam Hodgson, Tomas Lemoine, Sam Pilgrim, and Peter Kaiser.
